Preparing for Your Visit
Our office is open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday for scheduled appointments. When you call for an appointment, please be ready to answer several questions concerning your condition so that we may determine how your appointment should be scheduled. Please bring along all your X-rays, lab work and office notes from the physician who referred you to our practice, and a complete list of your current medications (including any herbal remedies you may be taking).
Cancellations & Emergencies
If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us within 24 hours to avoid any charges. Please make every attempt to be on time for your appointment as a courtesy to our physicians and the other patients whose time we value as much as yours.
In an emergency situation after hours, please contact our office at 336 802-2330 to speak to one of our doctors.
Payment & Insurance
The cost of your visit is determined by the time we spend with you, the complexity of your condition and by the tests necessary to properly diagnose and care for you. In an effort to keep our fees at a just and reasonable level, we request payment of your co-pay or the part of your bill that isn’t covered by your health insurance at the time of your appointment.
Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance carrier. It is the responsibility of you and your insurance company to pay your medical bills as they are due. As a courtesy, we will file claims to your insurance company and provide them with information to determine benefits. Your insurance deductible must be met and paid for at the beginning of each year before your insurance coverage will come into effect.
As a member of Cornerstone Health Care, our office is a participating provider with most major health insurance plans. Our office staff can tell you if your plan is on the list of those accepted by our practice. If your primary insurance is Medicare, please be aware that some secondary insurance policies do not cover your deductible. We suggest that you review your insurance policies carefully to determine which benefits are covered.
Electronic Medical Records
Cornerstone Health Care is one of the first physician groups in the country to implement a company-wide electronic medical record. Our patients realize many benefits from this paperless records system. Your doctor now has quick computerized access to your medical record, including your test results and other doctors’ notes, and is able to make immediate alterations to your treatment and medication plan as indicated. Using the electronic medical record allows better patient confidentiality, streamlines data input and provides improved accuracy as it eliminates any misinterpretation of handwriting. We look forward to sharing the many patient care advantages of this new computerized medical record system with you.
If you need a prescription refill, please call your pharmacy before 3:00 pm on weekdays, and they will contact our office for confirmation.
