Preparing for Your Visit
Scheduling appointments allows us to spend the appropriate time necessary to address the problem. We do, however, hold openings in our daily schedule so that we may work in patients with acute symptoms or rapidly developing medical problems. Depending upon the urgency of your condition, we may be able to schedule your appointment the same day as your call, especially if you phone early in the day.
To help us maintain our timely schedule, and as a courtesy to our patients, we ask that you advise us if you will be late or unable to make your appointment. If possible, we request at least 24 hours notice so we may give your appointment to another patient. Appointments that are not kept may be subject to charge.
Phone Calls & After Hours
Telephone calls to our office are prioritized in order of medical urgency. If you require emergency care, please let our nurse know so that we may direct you immediately to one of our providers or the hospital. If you are facing a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
Our staff is trained to answer many of your questions regarding medical care and consults with our providers on each call. Our physicians will return your call as quickly as possible. If you need after hours medical assistance, please call our office and an answering service will forward your call to the on call Cornerstone physician who will return your call promptly.
Payment & Insurance
Our office is a participating provider with most major health insurance plans. Our office staff will be able to tell you if your plan is accepted by our practice.
If your primary insurance is Medicare, please be aware that some secondary insurance policies do not cover your deductible. We suggest that you review your insurance policies carefully to determine what benefits are covered.
If you have a question concerning billing, please call Cornerstone Financial Services at 336 802-2000.
Electronic Medical Records
All Cornerstone practices are connected to each other through a company-wide electronic medical record. Our patients receive many advantages through this paperless records system. Your provider has quick access to your medical record and is able to share your record with any Cornerstone specialist. They can determine which drugs are on your drug formulary and have access to formulary alternatives. Your provider uses the information in the electronic medical record to work with you to create a customized preventive health plan. This health plan will give you target dates to return for ongoing health checkups. Patient confidentiality is carefully maintained with the utmost respect for your privacy. Information regarding your medical care will not be released to anyone without signed consent.
If you need a prescription refill, please contact your pharmacy so they can call our office. This process allows our medical providers and pharmacy to review and complete your request more efficiently. Prescription refills, scheduling of routine appointments and other non-urgent questions are handled each weekday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
