Sara Furr, MD
Sara M. Furr, MD joined Piedmont Internal Medicine, a Cornerstone Health Care practice in Thomasville, NC. Dr. Furr is the second female primary care internist practicing within Cornerstone, and the first to practice with Cornerstone in the Thomasville community. She will be providing comprehensive primary care to male and female patients from eighteen years of age and up, with a special emphasis on women’s health issues. She will begin practicing on August 1. Dr. Furr was awarded her Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon College in Elon, NC where she majored in biology, chemistry and religion and graduated cum laude. She earned her medical degree at East Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, NC. She served her residency training at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Dr. Furr served as medical director of correctional medical services at Forsyth County Detention Center in Winston-Salem, NC and as medical director at Snow Hill Medical Center in Snow Hill, NC. She also provided urgent care at Occumed Urgent Care in Greensboro, NC.
