James Anderson, MD
          Dr. Anderson earned his undergraduate degree at Baylor University and received his medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency training at Baylor and served an additional year as Pediatric Chief Resident.

Eric Chen, DO
          Dr. Chen was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree in computer systems analysis by Miami University College of Applied Science in Oxford, OH. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, OH. Dr. Chen also holds a Master of Business Administration from Ohio University. Dr. Chen served his osteopathic pediatric internship at Doctor’s Hospital, Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Columbus, OH. He completed a residency in combined pediatrics and internal medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Chen is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Dr. Chen practiced as an associate staff member at Wishard Memorial Hospital at the Pediatric Urgent Visit Center, Department of Pediatrics in Indianapolis, IN.

Kris Fleenor, NP-C
          Certified Nurse Practitioner Kris Fleenor, NP-C earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University, where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Before joining Cornerstone Pediatrics in 2001, Ms. Fleenor served on the Oncology and Medical Surgical floors of High Point Regional Health System. Ms. Fleenor is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Association.

Allison Poston, MD
          Dr. Poston received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology with honors and distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was Phi Beta Kappa. She was awarded her medical degree by the University of North Carolina School of Medicine where she received honors during her fourth year. Dr. Poston completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Kentucky in Lexington where she was named outstanding resident in Neonatology. Dr. Poston is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and holds national certification in both Neonatal Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Samuel Ravenel, MD
          Samuel F. Ravenel, MD joined Cornerstone Pediatrics. He was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree in English by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Ravenel served his Pediatric Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Ravenel has an extensive background in emergency preparedness having completed both Emergency Medical Technician and Wilderness Medicine training programs. He participated in the High School Sports Physicals Program in Norfolk, VA and held a leadership position in the Anti-smoking Campaign at Great Bridge Middle School in Chesapeake, VA.

David Tarter, MD
          Dr. Tarter was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. His medical degree was awarded with distinction by the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, KY. Dr. Tarter served residencies and internships in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. He served as a preceptor in an "Introduction to the Medical Profession" course, "Introduction to Clinical Medicine" course and in Physical Examination. He has received several awards for his resident teaching skills and his Clinical Vignette posters. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Dr. Tarter treated patients at Tarboro Urgent Care Clinic in Tarboro, NC. He is a member of the National Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Resident Association, the American College of Physicians – American Society of Internal Medicine, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Tarter is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
