Mary Sansing, MD
          Dr. Mary Sansing, FACOG received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and graduated summa cum laude in Zoology. She was awarded her medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans, where she was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received the American Medical Women's Association Scholastic Achievement Citation. Her residency training was in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she served as Chief Resident in her fourth year. For two years following her residency she served in the Navy as staff Ob-Gyn physician at the Charleston Naval Hospital and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Douglas Louk, MD
          Dr. Douglas Louk, FACOG received his BS degree in Biology from the Virginia Polytechnical Institute and State University in Blacksburg. He received his medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Louk served his residency training at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of the University Hospital -- Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, PA. During his last year Dr. Louk was named Outstanding Resident in Laparoscopy by the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Louk introduced and directs the practice's laser hair removal services.

Darrell Cope, MD
          Dr. Darrell A. Cope, FACOG received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a major in Microbiology. Dr. Cope's cancer research was published while he was in Medical School at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Cope received his residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where he was Administrative Chief Resident. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Kalpen Patel, MD
          Dr. Patel comes to Cornerstone from North Carolina Baptist and Forsyth Hospitals where he served as a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Patel received his residency training from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, earning the Ob/Gyn Resident Student Teaching Award and Annual House Officer Teaching Award. Dr. Patel was awarded his medical degree by the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he was named to the Alpha Omega alpha Medical Honor Society and received the Hambroch-McGanity Award in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Patel received his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston, Texas where he graduated summa cum laude with a major in Biology. Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been on the Medical Executive committee at High Point Regional Health System and is currently on the Credentials committee and the Operating Room committee. He has been the secretary for the OB/GYN section along with peer review. He has served on the Finance committee of CHC and as been on the Board for the past two years.

Shannon Mattern, MD
          Dr. Mattern received her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri -- Columbia where she graduated summa cum laude with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Spanish. While at the University of Missouri, she was elected to a membership in the honorary organization Phi Beta Kappa and Mortar Board. Dr. Mattern was awarded her medical degree by Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN. She served as chapter co-president for the American Medical Student Association and as coordinator of the Contraceptive Education Program for area schools. She completed her residence training at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Her research has been part of multiple publications in the medical literature.

Barbara Eisenberg, MD
          Dr. Eisenberg earned her Bachelor degree in Premedical Science at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She was awarded her Medical degree by Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Eisenberg served her internship and obstetrics and gynecology residency training at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Hospital where she was named Chief Resident and recognized with the Residency Teaching Award. Her interests range from preventative women’s health care to laparoscopic/minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Lorri Finch, PAC
          Certified Physician Assistant Lorri D. Finch completed her undergraduate studies at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC, where she was a combined degree candidate with a BS in biology and physician assistant training. She completed her graduate studies at the Physician Assistant program at Bowman Gray School of Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. Ms. Finch is particularly interested in caring for adolescent patients.

Beth Jones, RNC
          Beth Jones has worked at High Point OBGyn for over 20 years and is a certified obstetrical and lactation nurse. Beth also coordinates and precertifies inpatient and outpatient surgery. Each of our expectant mothers is encouraged to participate in our free birthing classes offered in six-week sessions. These informative classes address key issues of birthing and baby care including breathing and relaxation, signs and symptoms of labor, when to go to the hospital, what to pack, facts about anesthesia and C-sections, and tips on diapering, holding and breastfeeding a newborn.
