Michael Draelos, MD
          Dr. Draelos completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Arizona. He served his residency at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. His special areas of study include Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Draelos is a Community Clinic Outpatient Volunteer, the Secretary of High Point Medical Society, and a Delegate to the State Medical Society of North Carolina. Dr. Draelos is board certified in Gastroenterology.

Lester Hurrelbrink, MD
          Dr. Hurrelbrink completed both his undergraduate studies and medical degree at Louisiana State University. His residency training was served at the Department of Medicine Medical University of South Carolina. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Albert Rhoton, MD
          Dr. Rhoton received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Florida where he also received his medical degree. He received his residency training from the Department of Internal Medicine-Bowman Gray School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Mary Shearin, MD
          Dr. Shearin received her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She served her residency training at the University of North Carolina Internal Medicine and completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke University Medical Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Teodoro Toledo, MD
          Dr. Toledo comes to High Point from Foley, AL, where he was in private practice, specializing in gastroenterology. He was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology by the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY where he graduated with cum laude honors. Dr. Toledo earned his medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his internship studies and served a residency in Internal Medicine at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. Dr. Toledo completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. Dr. Toledo is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Toledo has performed bench research in his field and has articles published in current gastroenterology literature. He has a special interest in chronic diarrheal diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease.

John J. Walker, MD
          Prior to coming to High Point, Dr. Walker served on the medical staff of three hospitals in Syracuse, NY -- Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Community General Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Dr. Walker, a native of Fayetteville, NY, earned his medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center in Syracuse. During medical school Dr. Walker was inducted into several honor societies, and was awarded the President’s and the Dean’s Letters of Commendation. Dr. Walker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Siena College in Loudonville, NY, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Walker completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, where he also served as chief resident, and completed a Categorical Program in Internal Medicine. Dr. Walker has been published in several international medical journals for his research in his areas of interest. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a subspecialty in Gastroenterology.
