John J. Walker, MD
Prior to coming to High Point, Dr. Walker served on the medical staff of three hospitals in Syracuse, NY -- Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Community General Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Dr. Walker, a native of Fayetteville, NY, earned his medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center in Syracuse. During medical school Dr. Walker was inducted into several honor societies, and was awarded the President’s and the Dean’s Letters of Commendation. Dr. Walker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Siena College in Loudonville, NY, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Walker completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, where he also served as chief resident, and completed a Categorical Program in Internal Medicine. Dr. Walker has been published in several international medical journals for his research in his areas of interest. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a subspecialty in Gastroenterology.
