Gary Biesecker, MD
          Dr. Biesecker received his undergraduate degree from Dana College in Blair Nebraska and was awarded his medical degree from the University of Nebraska. He completed his internship and residency training at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA. He was awarded Chief Resident Honorarium for colon and rectal surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Boston, MA. Dr. Biesecker also served as Chief of Surgery at the Naval Submarine Medical Center where he was Director of ER and the Tumor Registry. He has served as an Instructor at the Advanced Laparoscopic Training Center in Marietta, GA and as Chief of Staff at High Point Regional Hospital. Dr. Biesecker is board certified in Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and a retired Captain in the US Navy Reserve. His primary interests are Hernias, Gallbladder, Thyroid, Parathyroid, and Breast and Intestinal Surgery.

F. Douglas Blazek, MD
          Dr. Blazek completed his undergraduate studies and medical school in a combined 5 year program at Pennsylvania State University and Jefferson Medical College in 1983. He received his residency training from Akron General Medical Center in Akron, OH and Critical Care training at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He has been board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) since 1990. His areas of interest include laparoscopic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery (Gallbladder, appendix, small bowel, Colon and Rectal surgery), hernias of the abdominal wall, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, breast surgery, and other outpatient / short stay procedures. Dr. Blazek is currently the Chief of Surgery at High Point Regional Health System.

Nestor Cruz, MD
          Nestor Cruz, Jr., MD served as a vascular fellow at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock for two years.  He completed a research fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport where he also served as chief surgery resident during his surgical residency.  Dr. Cruz received his undergraduate training from the University of Texas in Austin and was awarded his medical degree by the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.  Dr. Cruz was the winner of the residents research competition held by the Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Surgeons in 1993.  He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and has specific training in advanced vascular surgery.  Dr. Cruz has published several articles, authored three book chapters and made numerous presentations on specific surgical topics.

James Dasher, MD
          Dr. Dasher completed a five year residency in general surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, during which he served as chief resident. His previous medical positions include directing the community health education program presented by the National Health Service at the Philadelphia Naval Base during which he held the rank of Ensign. He also conducted surgical research at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for seven years. Dr. Dasher received his undergraduate degree from the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and earned his medical degree from the Medical School of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Dasher has had several articles published in his areas of specialty that include laparoscopy, the care of cancer patients and critical care. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Dasher is currently the Trauma Director for High Point Regional’s Trauma Center and the Co-Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program.

Joshua Eisenberg, MD
          Joshua A. Eisenberg is joining Cornerstone Surgery. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Science from Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA, graduating with highest distinction. He was awarded his medical degree by Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. He served his internship and a residency in General Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and was recognized with the Goracci and Student Teaching Awards. He recently completed a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Eisenberg also served a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has had several articles published in international medical journals. He is board certified in General Surgery and board eligible in Vascular Surgery.

Kenneth Shull, MD
          Dr. Shull has been providing surgical care to patients through High Point Surgical Associates since 1979. During that time he also served as Medical Director of the High Point Noninvasive Laboratory, Medical Center Diagnostic Imaging and the Ambulatory Surgery Center. He is currently Medical Director of the Curative Wound Care Center in High Point. Dr. Shull has traveled extensively throughout the world providing surgical care on medical missions to countries including Zaire, Bolivia, Kenya, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Sierra Leone. Awarded a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, Dr. Shull earned his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he completed an internship in general surgery. He also served his general surgery residency at the Medical University, as chief administrative resident. Dr. Shull completed a fellowship in the Academic Surgical Unit, Cardiovascular Unit and Clinical Vascular Laboratory at St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, England. Dr. Shull's research has been published in several international surgical journals, and he is a member of a number of medical associations including the American College of Surgeons, the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, the Society for Clincal Vascular Surgery, and the Society of Vascular Technology.

Thomas Walsh, MD
          Dr. Walsh graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University and received his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine. His residency training was completed at the University Health Center of Pittsburgh. Dr. Walsh's special areas of interest include breast disease, cancer surgery and laparoscopies. He is a volunteer physician for the Community Clinic and the Guilford County Breast Cancer Control Program. Dr. Walsh is on the board of directors for the Cancer Center at High Point Regional Health System. He also serves as cancer liaison physician for High Point Regional’s Comprehensive Cancer Program. Dr. Walsh is board certified in Surgery.

L. Dale Williams, MD
          Dr. Williams received his undergraduate degree from High Point College and his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine. His residency training was received from East Carolina University School of Medicine. Dr. Williams' special areas of interest include Vascular surgery and Renal transplant. He is board certified in surgery. Dr. Williams a Community Clinic volunteer physician.

Emily Beard, PAC
          Ms. Beard graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She was awarded her Masters degree from the Physicians Assistant Studies and Health Sciences program at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association.

Kevin Bruning, PA
          Mr. Bruning served as a Physician Assistant with Urgent Medical and Family Care in Greensboro, NC, and with Pro Med Minor Emergency Center in Charlotte, NC. Bruning was awarded his Bachelor of Science and Physician Assistant degrees by D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY, where he received the Division of Math and Science Scholarship and was named to the Dean’s List. Bruning is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, (NCCPA), and received Special Recognition on their Surgery Examination. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.

Christine Miller, PAC
          Certified Physician Assistant Christina L. Miller received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Towson University in Towson, MD. She completed the Physician Assistant Program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and earned a Master of Medical Science degree. During her medical training she gained clinical experience in several disciplines including family medicine, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, emergency medicine and general surgery. Wendy Sanders, PAC
          Wendy graduated Magna Cum Laude from High Point University and was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She received a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida and is Board Certified by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Prior to completing the Physician Assistant Program, she had eleven years experience in the operating room as a Surgical Technologist. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Piedmont Academy of Physician Assistants.

Amanda Yarbrough, PAC
          Certified Physician Assistant Amanda G. Yarbrough received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. During her medical training she gained clinical experience in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Beth Talent, PAC
          Certified Physician Assistant Beth Talent received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
