L. Lyle Smith, MD
          Dr. Smith earned his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and his graduate degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He received his residency training from the Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is on the board of Trustees at High Point Regional Hospital.

Grady Stone, MD
          Dr. Stone received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, He completed his residency training at the University of Alabama Hospitals at Birmingham and is board certified in Internal Medicine

Gretchen Velazquez, MD
          Gretchen Y. Velazquez, MD joined Cornerstone Internal Medicine/High Point. She was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree by Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX where she majored in biology. She earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. She served her internal medicine residency training at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC, in affiliation with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining Cornerstone Dr. Velazquez provided medical care through Fieldcrest Internal Medicine in Eden, NC and Health Serve Hispanic Clinic, which is affiliated with Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Dr. Velazquez is fluent in written and spoken Spanish.

Samuel Woods, MD
          Prior to joining Cornerstone, Dr. Woods was the Director of Hospitalist Services at High Point Regional Health System. Dr. Woods established the first dialysis center in Rocky Mount, VA and served as Medical Director of the Franklin County Dialysis Center for ten years before moving to High Point. Dr. Woods received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. He was awarded his Medical degree by the University of Seville in Seville, Spain. Dr. Woods completed his Residency at La Guardia Hospital/New York Hospital/Cornell Hospital in New York, NY. He also served a Nephrology Fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY in Clinical Nephrology and Acute Care. After his Fellowship, Dr. Woods served as a Clinical Instructor of Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, also in New York.
