Fareed Al-Khori, MD
          Dr. Al-Khori comes to High Point from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he completed a Cardiology Fellowship at Medical College of Pennsylvania-Hahnemann University Hospitals. He also served a Residency Program in Internal Medicine at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, and served as Locum Consultant Physician at Hull Royal Infirmary in Hull, United Kingdon. His hospital training included positions in Rheumatology, Hematology and Nephrology at hospitals in Edinburgh and London. Dr. Al-Khori is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, and in Cardiovascular Disease. He is also certified in the subspecialty of Nuclear Cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and certified in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography. Dr. Al-Khori is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Al-Khori has led numerous research studies and published several articles relating to his cardiology specialty.

J. Andy Chiu, MD
          Dr. Chiu earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. He was awarded his Medical degree by St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Chiu received his residency training at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. He completed fellowships in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, and served a Cardiology Research fellowship at East Tennessee Medical College in Johnson City.

Sandy Davis, NP
          Davis joins Cornerstone after serving as a Registered Nurse at High Point Regional Hospital, both in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and the Cardiac Telemetry Unit. During that time she received the Nursing Clinical Excellence Award and the Professional Excellence in Nursing Award. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Davis is board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also a Critical Care Registered Nurse, certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Darryl Kalil, MD
          Dr. Kalil received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with honors from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He served his internship at the Departments of Medicine and Surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, renowned for being the hospital where the first heart transplant was performed by Dr. Christian Barnard. Dr. Kalil completed a residency with the Departments of Pediatrics and Neurology at Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg. He served additional residencies in Internal Medicine at Ealing Hospital in London, England, Johannesburg General Hospital and Groote Schuur Hospital. Dr. Kalil also completed a fellowship in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Groote Schuur Hospital. Dr. Kalil is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, and in Cardiovascular Disease, with added qualifications in Interventional Cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Helgi Oskarsson, MD
          Dr. Oskarsson received his undergraduate degree with special honors in biology and physics from Hamrahlid College in Reykjavik Iceland.  He was awarded his medical degree from the University of Iceland.  Dr. Oskarsson completed his internship at Regional Hospital in Akureyi, Iceland.  He completed his senior residency in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Landspitalinn, University Hospital of Iceland, and at the department of Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL.  Dr. Oskarsson completed his Fellowship in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.  Dr. Oskarsson is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, in Cardiovascular Disease, with added qualifications in Interventional Cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.   Among his special interests are Interventional Cardiology and Preventive Cardiology.  Dr. Oskarsson has done extensive medical research encompassing the field of atherosclerosis and heart failure, and has published over forty scientific papers and abstracts related to his research findings.
