Tom Thompson, Ed.D.
          Dr. Thompson received his undergraduate degree from the University of California in Davis, CA, and was awarded his doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley, CO. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and is President-elect of the North Carolina Psychology Association Division of Professional Practice. Dr. Thompson has extensive experience in providing a full range of psychological services to patients of all ages. His younger patients include children with learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, mood and behavioral problems. He has been a consultant with the Guilford County School System and local private schools on the educational and emotional needs of students, and served as Child Mental Health Examiner for the University of North Carolina Medical School. Dr. Thompson’s work with his adult patients includes psychological testing and counseling for problems with depression and anxiety related to health, vocational, and family problems. He has completed specialized training in marital therapy.

Michael Kirch, Ph.D.
          Dr. Michael Kirch received his undergraduate degree in psychology at State University of New York at Binghamton and was awarded his doctorate degree in clinical psychology at Binghamton University, New York. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Penn State Geisinger Medical Center. Following his fellowship, Dr. Kirch served as Staff Clinical Psychologist for children, adolescents, adults, and families at the Cayuga Counseling Center (Auburn, NY) and Supervising Clinical Psychologist at the Cayuga County Community Mental Health Clinic. With children and adolescents, Dr. Kirch specializes in the treatment of both conduct and socialization problems. His adult specializations are in behavioral medicine (the application of psychological principles to the treatment of health problems such as chronic pain, sleep disorders, cardiovascular disease) and the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders. Dr. Kirch is a member of the American Psychological Association, New York Psychological Association, National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, and is a Certified Sports Psychologist with the National Institute of Sports.

Katherine Schnell, Psy.D
          Dr. Kathie Schnell received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was awarded her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University, Atlanta, Georgia. She earned a diploma in Christian Counseling from the Psychological Studies Institute in Atlanta and completed her post-doctoral internship at Philhaven Behavioral Healthcare Services in Mt. Gretna, Pennsylvania. Dr. Schnell is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society of Clinical Psychology and the American Association of Christian Counselors. She provides psychological testing, and individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Areas of specialization include the assessment of ADHD, Asperger’s Disorder and developmental disorders, as well as the application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to women’s mood and anxiety disorders.

Michelle Lawson, M.A.
          Licensed Psychological Associate, Michelle L. Lawson, MA, provides psychological assessment to children, adolescents and adults. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and was awared her Master’s degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. Her areas of interest include the evaluation and treatment of learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, social delays, ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, sensory issues and developmental delays. Michelle is a member of the American Psychological Association, North Carolina Psychological Association and CHADD.

Tom Harrison, Jr., M.A.
          Licensed Psychological Assistant Thomas A. Harrison, Jr. has over 25 years experience working with students in public and private schools. He received his Bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was awarded a Master’s and a Specialist degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mr. Harrison is a Licensed School Psychologist. He has served on the Board of Directors for The Piedmont School of High Point and The Presbyterian Counseling Center in Greensboro.

Dana Truman-Schram, M.A.
          Dana Truman-Schram, M.A., a Licensed Psychological Associate, provides psychological testing and therapy services at Cornerstone Behavioral Medicine. She holds a Masters Degree in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and was awarded her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Akron, Ohio (Honors Program Scholar). Her areas of specialization include treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disorders such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder. Ms. Truman-Schram also has advanced training in working with sexual abuse issues and aggressive youth. She has published in The Journal of Counseling and Development and The Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology. Prior to joining Cornerstone, she provided assessments and therapy in outpatient treatment settings including Davidson County Mental Health, CenterPoint Human Services, and Daymark Recovery Services in North Carolina as well as in private practice in Texas. Areas of intervention include individual therapy, play therapy, group therapy, and family therapy/parent education.

John Edwards, Ph.D.
          Dr. Edwards received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College (Davidson, NC) and was awarded his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Dr. Edwards, former Clinical Director of the UNCG Counseling & Testing Center, provides therapy, evaluation and testing to adolescents and adults. Areas of specialization include evaluation and treatment of ADD/ADHD, learning disorders, anxiety, depression, stress, marital/relationship issues and crisis management.
