Emerywood Hematology/Oncology Staff

Rachel K. Beeson, Patient Account Coordinator

Rachel is the Patient Account Coordinator for Emerywood Hematology/Oncology. She received her Certification for Professional Coders in 1998. She is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders for six years and has served as Chairperson for Cornerstone’s Relay for Life for 2003-2004. Rachel has worked in the medical field for 15 years.

Demetrica Lavette Hagler, CMA

Dee is a Certified Medical Assistant for Emerywood Hematology/Oncology. She graduated from the Medical Assisting Program at GTCC in 2003 with an Associate in Applied Science. Dee is a member of the American Association of Medical Assisting.

Carolyn Welch-Hedrick, CMA

Carolyn is a Certified Medical Assistant for Emerywood Hematology/Oncology. She graduated from the Medical Assisting Program at GTCC in 1993 with an Associate in Applied Science. She also attended the Air Force Technical School from 1986-1989. Carolyn served as Chairperson for Cornerstone's Relay for Life campaign in 2001 and 2002 and was awarded the Al Hawks Community Service Awared in 2002. She is a member of the AAMA and along with her husband, Jeff, are parents to Christopher and Haley.

Elaine Deaton Key, RN, OCN

Elaine is an Outpatient Chemotherapy Nurse with Emerywood Oncology. She attended John Wesley College, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Davidson County Community College. Elaine obtained her Chemotherapy Administration Certification at Wake Forest University Medical Center in April of 2001, and is a Certified Oncology Nurse since 1988. She was a recipient of the Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina in 2000 and was a Cornerstone Star Employee in 2003. Elaine is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, the High Point Regional Health Systems Speakers Bureau, and is involved in many community efforts. She and her husband Barry are members of First Wesleyan Church.

Patricia Lynn Fowler, Medical Laboratory Technologist

Lynn graduated from Davidson County Community College with an Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology. She lives in Stokesdale with her two children, Joshua and Tabitha. She enjoys working in the Oncology field where she first started out as a nursing assistant.

Kelly L. Ledbetter, CMA

Kelly is a Certified Medical Assistant with Emerywood Hematology/Oncology. She graduated from the Medical Assisting Program at Davidson County Community College in 2004. Kelly enjoys spending time with her son Dalton, and husband Gary.

Judy L. Pollock, Insurance Coordinator

Judy is the Insurance Coordinator for Emerywood Hematology/Oncology. She graduated from Georgia College at Milledgeville with a B.S. in Medical Technology. She is certified with the American Society of Clinical Pathologist. She has previously worked in the laboratory department at the Medical Center of Central George in Macon, GA, the nuclear medicine department at University Hospital, Augusta, GA and the laboratory department at High Point Regional Hospital. Judy is a member of Grace Church of High Point and is involved in several volunteer efforts in church and community. She served five years as a member of the Board of Trustees for Westchester Academy

Kathy C. Reid, BSN

Kathy is the Research Coordinator for Emerywood Hematology/Oncology and the High Point Regional Health System Department of Radiation Oncology. She is a nursing graduate of Villanova University and health education at George Mason University and George Washington University. Serving as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy, Kathy also graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in Newport, Rhode Island. Kathy has been certified as a critical Care Nurse and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society and the Society for Research Associates. In the past, Kathy has served as an affiliate faculty and board member for the American Heart Association and as a board member for the Mental Health Alliance and the High Point Medical Alliance. She is involved in a variety of community organizations as well.

Merry E. Snarksi, CMA

Merry is a Certified Medical Assistant for Emerywood Hematology/Oncology. She graduated from Davidson County Community College in May of 1996. She obtained her IV Certification in 1998, and her Certification in Medical Assisting in 2000. Merry is a member of the American Association of Medical Assisting, and received the Star Achievement Award from Cornerstone. Merry is also a member of the ASPCA Humane Society. She is involved in her community, and also enjoys walking, running, yard work, and spending time with her family.

Theresa DeWeese Stoker, RN, OCN

Theresa is an Outpatient Chemotherapy Nurse for Emerywood Oncology. She attended the High Point Regional Hospital School of Nursing and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Theresa is a Cornerstone Star Employee (1999), NC Oncology Nurse of the Year (1993), North Carolina Great 100 Nurses (1992) and received the Professional Excellence Award from High Point Regional Hospital in 1989. She is a member of the Institute of Nursing Excellence, the North Carolina Nurses Association, the American Cancer Society, and Project ASSIST. In her community, Theresa is a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the Community Clinic of High Point. She serves on the Boards of the High Point Ballet Company and the High Point Area Arts Council. She is a member of Emerywood Baptist Church.

Culeasha M. Winstead, CPhT

Culeasha is a Chemotherapy Technician for Emerywood Hematology/Oncology. She graduated from Graham High School in 1996. She received her Pharmacy Technician Certification while working at High Point Regional Health Systems in 2000 from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. In February 2004 she received a Certification of Completion from Cornerstone for Phlebotomy training. When she is not working, she enjoys being wife to Darnell and mother to son Dialyn.
