High Point, NC - Cornerstone physicians Nick Jacobucci, MD, Michael Kalish, MD and Rafaela Aguiar, MD, were honored as the three recipients of the North Carolina 2005 SafeRx Award by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, the National Community Pharmacists Association and SureScripts. This honor was granted after the three industry entities, representing 55,000 retail pharmacies in the US, completed a nationwide review of electronic prescribing activity and determined that the three Cornerstone doctors had the highest e-prescription rates in North Carolina.
The new award was developed to highlight the accuracy and efficiency of electronic prescribing, which can help increase patient safety and allow doctors and staff more time to care for their patients. North Carolina also received an award for ranking eighth in the nation for its outstanding level of adoption and usage of electronic prescribing technology. The State award will be accepted by Governor Easley’s office.
Cornerstone Health Care is among the leading practices in the country in the adoption of electronic medical records technology, with the prescribing component one of the many patient care benefits. Dr. Jacobucci’s practice, Cornerstone Family Practice at Archdale, and Dr. Kalish and Dr. Aguiar’s practice, Deep River Family Medicine in north High Point, were among the first Cornerstone practices to completely integrate electronic medical records into their operations.
All practices will be fully integrated by early 2007.
